Teradata has released Telco Analytics in partnership with Ventraq. The new offering bundles the Ventraq analytic engine BIAS (Business Integration Appliance Services) with Teradata purpose-built platform family.

According to Teradata, its Telco Analytics with Ventraq captures both Operations Support Systems (OSS) and Business Support Systems (BSS) information enabling carriers to determine the profitability of their networks.

Additionally, the captured information includes call detail records, billing and invoice information, signaling, facilities and inventory data, and also all reference data such as switch, trunk and network information, rates, number portability, customer, manufacturer handset, and other industry information.

Teradata claims that the new capability relies on its platform family to provide the scalability required to integrate data from the Ventraq analytic engine BIAS with network inventory, usage and financial data and customer information. The resulting information is available for use in other Ventraq and third-party reporting applications, allowing on-demand reports and analyses for users throughout the enterprise.

Teradata said that the Ventraq-designed offering provides real-time intelligence and an integrated view of voice, data and broadband services that can be rolled up into a single view of telecommunications operations. By integrating network inventory, usage and financial data with customer information, the joint analytic offering identifies and enables service providers to maintain network profitability and maximise the utilisation of all network paths.

The company added that driven by its parallel processing database, BIAS collects and manages OSS and BSS data records and compares them on a record-for-record basis. As a result, telecommunications companies can make business decisions based on a set of data rather than on trend or directional inference.
