The Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) of Singapore has selected UK-based broadband benchmarking company Epitiro to supplement its broadband performance monitoring activities.
Epitiro will supply and maintain a deployment of ISP-I to assess the quality, including latency and throughput, of broadband services provided in Singapore.
Epitiro provides customer experience insight to ISPs, cellular and fixed line operators, media providers, corporates and government regulators. Companies including BT, Vodafone, Orange, Virgin, Telecom New Zealand, Ofcom, Tiscali, KPN, the OECD and others have utilised Epitiro’s independent analysis of fixed and wireless broadband performance.
Epitiro’s broadband performance analysis provides up-to-the-minute benchmarking reports on key service quality performance indicators. The company captures broadband performance data through its global test and measurement network infrastructure consisting of hardware and software agents that report customer experience metrics to a common database. The network of agents replicates actual user activity across all leading ISPs to ensure statistically accurate views of true end-user experience.
The company’s contract with the IDA will commence during December 2008 with Epitiro providing regular reports on the quality of consumer and business broadband services.
Gavin Johns, CEO of Epitiro, said: “The IDA is committed to growing Singapore into a dynamic global information and communications hub. We are delighted to serve as an independent advisor to the IDA on the quality of Singapore’s broadband service delivery.”
