Level 3 Communications has won a contract from Social Security Administration (SSA), to provide wavelength services under the network enterprise contract program.

As per the agreement, Level 3 will provide SSA with multiple 10 Gigabit per second (Gbps) wavelength offerings to connect several of SSA’s data centre locations with the potential to expand to additional sites in the future.

Level 3 said that its offerings are designed to be cost-effective offering and meets SSA’s network performance, scale, capacity and usability requirements.

The company has approximately 54,000 long-haul fiber route miles and 27,000 metro fiber miles spanning 190 markets in 22 countries.

It offers a portfolio of telecommunications services, including voice over Internet protocol (VoIP), enterprise wide area network (WAN), metro and long-haul transport, data, collocation, and content delivery.
