Information and communications technology (ICT) company Huawei has launched a series of end-to-end convergent WiMAX/LTE offerings.

The company demonstrated the new offerings at the 2011 WiMAX Forum Member Conference.

The offerings included the SingleRAN WiMAX/LTE offering, and the B8200, the E398, and the E392 dongle.

The company said that the SingleRAN WiMAX/LTE offering features a co-platform of hardware and software, software upgrading, and parallel transmitting in dual-mode. And that remote radio units (RRU) support dual modes of WiMAX and LTE TDD at the same time in the offering.

Operators can flexibly deploy multi-mode networks according to different scenarios to meet the trends of evolution and convergence, said the company.

Huawei’s B8200 can support multiple bands, such as UMTS 900/2100MHz, GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900/1800MHz, as well as WiMAX 2.5GHz access.

The E398 can reach peak data rates of up to 100Mb/s, claimed the company. It added that the E392 can support global roaming and can switch between different networks.

Huawei WiMAX/TDS/LTE networks president Deng Taihua said choosing a SingleRAN offering to build convergent mobile networks and adopting multi-mode device solutions have been validated by the global industry chain.

Deng Taihua added, "Huawei’s convergent end-to-end solutions can assist operators avoid the risks of technology choice and network evolution, maximise the value of key assets, release the pressure from the rapid increase of mobile broadband traffic and users, and help realise business success."
