GTS Central Europe (GTS CE), a provider of integrated telecommunications offerings and data centre services, has deployed Cisco’s new server platform Unified Computing SystemTMasc for provisioning cloud-based infrastructure services.

The Cisco platform will enable GTS CE to provide processing, storage, networks and other computing infrastructure resources for its customers; and to virtualise its data centre architecture.

GTS CE will offer the new services to clients in the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.

The company also implemented Cisco Nexus 2000 Series Fabric Extenders to provide connectivity for the rack servers, and Cisco Nexus 5000 Series Switches to deliver scalable Gigabit Ethernet environments.

GTS CE combines Cisco’s Data Center and Internet Protocol Next-Generation Network products to create the Cisco Unified Service Delivery platform.

Cisco Emerging Markets East managing director Craig Taylor said GTS CE’s implementation of Unified Computing System is a great example of using the inherent flexibility of this system as a foundation for new cloud-based services.
