According to Airspan, its new MiMAX products combine advanced signal processing with full MIMO capabilities and high power to ensure maximum performance, capacity and range. The MiMAX indoor and outdoor devices include features such as single or dual VoIP ports, integrated router and Wi-Fi options, and are available in single-band configurations in the 2GHz to 3GHz frequency range.
Uzi Shalev, chief operations officer, Airspan, said: Too many WiMAX vendors are shipping immature products which in some cases have negatively affected customer business cases and reputations. We offered the MiMAX Q-Series USB with features that are still available from Airspan even a year after its release.
The company has introduced WiMAX products consisting three different base station solutions- indoor, outdoor and mobile user devices, network products and a comprehensive network management solution. The features in WiMAX products included:
• 512 /1024/2048 FFT SOFDMA and 256 FFT OFDM radios for true Non- Line-of-Sight (NLOS) nomadic and portable operation
• Burst-by-burst adaptive modulation and error correction
• High Performance radios that deliver extended link budgets
• Low latency radio interface for time critical services
• Licensed and Unlicensed band operation (1.5GHz, 2.3GHz, 3.3- 3.8GHz, 4.9GHz, 5.1-5.4GHz, 5.4- 5.7GHz, 5.8GHz, 5.9GHz followed by 500-700MHz)
• Point to Multipoint Access and Point-to-Point backhaul.
Earlier, in July 2008, Airspan had received the first formal FCC certification for WiMAX equipment for 5.4 GHz. The certification includes Airspan’s MicroMAX Base Station as well as the ProST and EasyST Subscriber Terminals. The solution can be integrated with VoIP and WiFi extensions and incorporates Airspan’s proprietary interference mitigating software to ensure optimized and uninterrupted performance.
