Twitter has hired cloud technology specialist Chris Pinkham from Amazon.com, to focus on the smooth operation of the social media platform.
Starting this January, Chris Pinkham has joined as a vice president of engineering at Twitter.
Prior to joining Amazon, he had founded Nimbula in 2009 which provides software to companies to build Amazon-style cloud services.
Pinkham also led cloud development at Oracle after Nimbula was acquired by Oracle in 2013.
The social media platform is facing repeated crashes, with users shown a ‘Fail Whale icon’ if the pages don’t load, reported Bloomberg.
Last May, the social media platform promoted Alex Roetter as head of engineering to boost the performance of the platform.
The company is also overhauling its engineering department to help it release new products quickly and expand its services.
According to his Linkedin profile, he is looking to hire "people who are interested in building some of the most important infrastructure on the planet."
