Mountain View, California-based multimedia company RAD Technologies Inc has announced ScreenPlay, a full-motion digital video screen capture system for Microsoft Video for Windows. ScreenPlay enables users to visualise, record, edit and play back image files and animations, compatible with the Audio Video Interleaved file format. It is designed for corporate applications such as computer based training; system troubleshooting; on-line documentation; maintenance; service manuals; computer-aided design and engineering imaging; and for military and security applications. ScreenPlay will run under most workstation and personal computer operating systems and requires no special hardware. Audio can be integrated from external CD-ROM, tape, or microphone. Full motion digital video can be captured from any window, sector or the entire screen with a single mouse-click, and can be compressed for maximum performance. ScreenPlay movies integrate into desktop publishing documents, relational and object databases and can be sent by electronic mail, or across networks. ScreenPlay is out next month at $900.
