Boole & Babbage Inc is shipping Release 1.1 of MainView Solutions, a set of automation applications that are said to reduce the cost of implementing automated data centre operations: the Access/NV option to AutoOperator provides for execution of existing NetView automation procedures and exchange of data with MainView Solutions; if required, MainView Solutions can be tailored to invoke NetView services and send or receive data; when DB2 facilities need to be integrated into -an automation strategy, the RxD2/Link enables NetView or AutoOperator automation procedures in REXX to access DB2 directly with SQL; MainView Solutions operate on any IBM or compatible mainframe running MVS/ESA or MVS/XA with JES2 or JES3; they require AutoOperator 2.1 and prices start at around $2,000.
