Under the terms of the agreement, Dell will install 57,000 systems across Honeywell’s US divisions. Its Managed Services unit will provide the manufacturer’s service desk capability for support questions around operating systems and more common software applications, and its Custom Factory Integration (CFI) services will integrate custom software and images in the factory.
In addition, Dell said it will offer its Asset Recovery Services (ARS), which manage the recovery, disposal and return of leased systems at the end of their lifecycle. The agreement also includes security support through virus and management administration.
The new deal builds upon the relationship between the two companies, who last year signed a similar contract to equip Honeywell’s network infrastructure in 16 European countries.
