There is an outstanding demand for some of our products like the Alpha workstations and personal computers which hopefully we will be able to satisfy in the third (fiscal) quarter, Vincenzo Damiani, head of Digital Equipment Corp’s European operations told Reuter: the company does about $7,000m a year in Europe, and Damiani said some 10% of total European revenues and 20% of hardware sales were now coming from Alpha products; on the alliance with Ing C Olivetti & Co SpA, he said that the strategic part which assumes both companies take advantage of the technology available on both sides is working, but that the tactical aspect, the supply of products on both sides, is not going in line with expectations, but he looked for that to change when the Italian economy starts to recover.
