Beaverton, Oregon-based mixed signal, mixed technology modeling software specialist Analagy Inc has agreed in principle to acquire Symmetry Design Systems Inc, on undisclosed terms. Analogy, founded in 1985, claims its MAST hardware description language for analog, mixed-signal and mixed-technology is an industry de facto standard, and offers the SaberDesigner set of integrated design tools on Unix workstations. Its tools have been used for testing and repairing the B-2 Stealth bomber (CI No 2 ,762). Symmetry, four years younger and based in Los Altos, California, also concentrates on modeling tools and model libraries for analog and mixed – signal simulators for system design, including its Modpex model generation software.
