IT efficiency software firm 1E has upgraded its systems management software Nomad to integrate Microsoft System Center 2012 Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr).
Nomad 2012 also integrates with SCCM, augments and leverages the existing SCCM 2012 infrastructure. It does not need another admin console or separate competing infrastructure and does not create a single point of failure.
Nomad allows to deliver large software deployments, Windows 7 and 8 upgrades and patches in large number of PCs, servers and sites without disrupting business continuity.
It removes 95% or more of servers in a Systems Management infrastructure and reduces the number of desk-side visits within an organisation.
It also enables organisations to avoid existing and future investment in hardware and reduce administrative overheads.
1E’s Nomad 2012 includes supercharged Win7 deployments and Peer Backup Assistant that backs up a user’s customised settings then restores them, saving organisations from transferring data over the WAN again.
The new streamlined systems management software include enhanced OSD utilities and WinPE support, which allows organisations to send operating system images to several systems simultaneously.
It also includes an advanced algorithm, Reverse Quality of Service (QoS), that calculates available bandwidth, protects business data and ensures that IT content never competes with the applications that run a business.
PXE Everywhere offers the ability for one machine to boot from any other on the network.
Microsoft Management and Security Division CVP Brad Anderson said Nomad Enterprise extends the core capabilities of Microsoft System Center 2012 Configuration Manager to help streamline systems management by using the available network bandwidth.
