Suez Lyonnaise des Eaux of Paris and M6 Metropole Television SA have agreed to buy 15% and 5%, respectively, of the 20% stake in French pay-television company Television Par Satellite (TPS) currently held by CLT-UFA, a Luxembourg-based television company. The sale price for the acquired 20% stake totals close to $65m and takes into account TPS’s financial debt and a minority discount. This transaction is a strategic step to increase our participation in digital pay-TV satellite broadcasting, commented Gerard Mestrallet, CEO of Suez Lyonnaise des Eaux. TPS was valued at $590m, or the equivalent of $1,640 per subscriber at the end of last year. Suez Lyonnaise des Eaux is an international private infrastructure services group with four core businesses – energy, water, waste services and communications – and has operations in 120 countries.
