Computer Associates International Inc this week announced a new series of network, systems and storage management products for medium sized companies. The products, which will only be available through CA’s resellers, are InoculateIT Advanced Edition, for virus protection, ControlIT Advanced Edition for remote management; and ARCserveIT for storage management.
InoculateIT, priced at $695, uses a rules-based detection method to detect and cure viruses throughout an enterprise’s server environment. ControlIT, which costs $199, is designed for medium to large enterprises with multiple desktop, server, and mobile/telecommuter support requirements. The product enables IT managers and systems administrators to carry out support, administration, and application access functions over LAN, WAN and dial-up connections. ARCserveIT, priced at $1,395, is designed for medium enterprises and provides streamlined administration of multiple Windows NT servers.
Optional agents allow data residing on Unix, NetWare, Macintosh and OS/2 machines to be managed from the same centralized console. It also supports advanced backup and restore facilities , including protection of open files, fibre channel Storage Area Networks (SAN) and high availability application failover.
