China’s Ministry of Education has announced plans to connect all schools in China to the internet, and to boost the use of multimedia computer systems. The new IT initiative will immediately require all teachers at college level and above, who are younger than 50, to become computer literate. High school teachers are being given five years to become computer- proficient.
