The Royal Thai Police want to know user names and telephone numbers of all internet users. The Police Department has asked the Telephone Organization of Thailand to let it identify all callers logging onto the internet. According to Newsbytes, Police Colonel Chalermkiat Srivorakan wants to monitor internet users to protect against any crimes that may occur on the network. Chalermkiat told Bangkok’s The Nation that: The display, which is similar to the caller ID feature used on some mobile phones, will allow police to increase their efficiency in crime prevention and suppression on the network. The TOT has not yet approved the request.
