Sony’s PlayStation Mobile, which was designed for PS Vita handheld and selective Android phones, is coming to an end this September.

The company previously stopped support of the service for Android devices, but after July 15 the company will not publish any new content or make available content for downloads.

PlayStation Mobile was announced in September 2012 during the Tokyo Game Show and featured classic and new games from independent developers and SCE World Wide Studios.

However, PlayStation Mobile platform was limited to selective Sony’s Xperia smartphones and tablets and few models from Sharp and HTC.

The shuttering of PlayStation Mobile is a reflection of the company’s failure to revive its mobile business, reported The Verge.

However, the company’s standalone PlayStation 4 gaming console has done well in the market, which has sold 20.2 million units worldwide through the end of February.

The company has also announced its plans to sell the console in China starting March 20.
