To implement its strategy, OTE will be rolling out a data/IP-based portfolio of services and solutions on a multi-service (IP+ATM) platform.
Currently, OTE’s nation-wide network consists of IP and ATM nodes in 65 and 42 locations respectively, which are interconnected over leading-edge SDH systems with overlapped rings of 10s of kilometers of fiber optic across Greece, thus making its telecommunications network the most reliable one in the greater South East European region.
Within the first half of next year the new Data/IP network infrastructure of OTE Group will be implemented in 82 locations across Greece, getting OTE closer to the corporate customer and ensuring more competitive price/quality services than any other competitor. In parallel within the same time-period, OTE will start rolling-out its international network in over 20 business locations around the world to address the needs of both National and International Companies, enforcing its leading position in the South East European region.
Through this new initiative, OTE will better utilize its experience in the telecommunications arena, its know-how and capability to invest in new technologies and infrastructure, in order to fully address the evolving needs of the telecommunications market.
