Personalization company Younology Inc has raised $7m in a first round of venture capital financing led by J&W Seligman & Co Inc. Younology’s software is designed to serve personalized content, commerce and community to consumers in real time, while insuring that consumers retain total control over their personal information. The web isn’t about mass market techniques, argued president and CEO Paul McKay. It is about giving people information relevant to them when they need it while ensuring complete control over the privacy of their personal information. He said Younology will use the money to establish a presence in the e-business market.
