India-based IT consulting and services firm Infosys has reported revenues of INR9,298 crore (approximately $1.8bn) for the third quarter ended 31 December 2011, up 31% from INR7,106 crore (approximately $1.4bn) in the same quarter 2010.
The company’s gross profit in the third quarter was INR4,010 crore (approximately $774m), up 31.8% compared with INR3,043 crore (approximately $587m) gross profit in the same quarter 2010.
Infosys has posted operating profit of INR2,899 crore (approximately $559m) for the third quarter in 2011, an increase of 35% from INR2,147 crore (approximately $414m) in the same quarter in 2010.
Net profit was INR2,372 crore (approximately $458m) in the third quarter of 2011, up 33.2% compared to INR1,780 crore (approximately $343.7m) in the previous year’s same quarter.
The financial services and insurance (FSI) sector has contributed most to the company’s net revenues, followed by manufacturing enterprises (MFG); and energy, utilities and telecommunication services (ECS).
Retail, logistics, consumer product group, life sciences and health care enterprises (RCL) segment in all has contributed INR2,153 crore (approximately $415m) in revenues in the third quarter, compared to INR1,488 crore (approximately $287.3m) in the same quarter previous year.
