This is an exciting and important opportunity for us to leverage DCH’s state-of-the-art technology with our own market-leading retail and high-volume pharmacy fulfillment systems to develop a new generation of prescription fulfillment solutions, said TechRx CEO Joseph J. Porfeli. PharmaLinx will help us jumpstart our development efforts, enabling us to provide our retail pharmacy clients with enhanced functionality much faster, continued Porfeli in a press statement. Enhancements like configurable user interfaces, database independence and even an application server provider – or ASP – model can be available sooner. The technology deployed will increase performance and create significant efficiencies, concluded Porfeli.
We are extremely pleased that TechRx will be leveraging our technology to take the pharmacy market to new heights, said Christopher Blackley, DCH CEO. Combined with TechRx’s command of the pharmacy systems market, PharmaLinx will enable pharmacies to realize the value of eCommerce and web technologies. This agreement is a strong first step in our business strategy to work with leading business solution providers in a variety of industries to enhance their product offerings through the application of our web-based technologies, concluded Blackley.
Developed entirely in the JAVA programming language, PharmaLinx(TM) is a web-based, n-tier application architecture and is database independent. Transactions are XML based and processing is performed either centrally, as in the ASP model, or distributed across multiple network computers in remote facilities.
Application service provider (ASP) technology enables users to lower the total cost of technology ownership while gaining access to the most recent advancements in software. Small and mid-sized organizations can accelerate the deployment of new business applications; escape the high-cost and frustration of administering business support software and have fewer IT resources to manage. Larger operations find that the ASP models allows them to redirect IT resources to critical business processes and projects.
