The proposal will require any operator intending to offer wLAN services to the public to simply register with the OFTA before launching the service. Unlike individual licenses, no application or processing procedures will be involved.
The class license only requires the licensee to fulfil minimal condition such as avoiding interference. The operators are also subject to the provisions of the Telecommunications Ordinance, which regulates conduct.
