Logica’s activities will be based out of the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, and will provide support for local operations and nearby countries such as Peru, Colombia, Ecuador and Central America. In Venezuela, the number of text messages exchanged every day is reaching European levels, where the penetration is very high.

Summing up Colombian and Venezuelan markets, up to 5.3 millions users send and receive messages using SMSC (Short Message Service Centre) from Logica. Only in Venezuela, the average number of messages sent by users is 10/15 per day.

David Gilarranz, the Logica’s director in charge of overseeing the Venezuelan subsidiary, believes the market for mobile Internet, SMS and value-added services in Venezuela and Latin America are in full bloom. Our aim is to improve the range of services to be provided by the operators and, despite being the leaders in the local market, further strengthen our presence in the region.
