San Diego, California-based SAIC had made a revised bid of 255m euros ($271m) several weeks after the consortium’s sealed bid of 317m euros ($337m) was unveiled by the Greek government. According to the winning bid’s terms, 60% of the contract will go to Greek subcontractors.

Siemens AG will provide the communications networks and sensors, while Nokia Oyj will supply the equipment for a central operation control centre overseeing security.
