In his new position, Thompson will build on his contact center and enterprise network expertise to accelerate Brooktrout Technology’s initiatives for enterprise networks. He will oversee the Enterprise Market Group’s marketing efforts and closely coordinate the market specification and introduction for new product and service bundles to Brooktrout True Partners.

We are delighted to welcome Chris to Brooktrout, said John Ison, vice president and general manager, Enterprise Markets Group, Brooktrout Technology. In filling this role, one of our requirements was to bring contact center market experience into our business. Chris’ past experience, both as an industry analyst and in his roles at various well-known voice companies, brings expertise to Brooktrout that will immediately benefit our partners.

Over the last six months, Thompson has worked with Ivus Technical Services and NUASIS Corporation to tune their business models in the contact center marketplace. Thompson started his career at VMX, the company that pioneered the voice messaging industry and was ultimately acquired by Octel Communications. He then became an influential industry analyst at the Gartner Group/Dataquest, where he was a global core topic leader for enterprise network and call center services specializing in computer telephony, converged networks, voice over internet protocol, and customer management systems. Thompson has also held management positions at Locus Dialogue, a Montreal- based voice recognition company, and Nortel Networks, a global Internet and communications leader.

Brooktrout’s True Partner initiative was an important consideration in my decision to join the company, said Thompson. I look forward to continuing to create exciting, new network technologies for the enterprise messaging and contact center markets.

Thompson is a frequent industry speaker and has written several influential reports on the performance and key success factors for vendors in the converged network marketplace. He holds a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from McMaster University, a Canadian Center of Excellence for the research of telecommunications, innovation, and high technology. He is also a member of the board of directors of ObjectWorld, a Quebec-based unified messaging company. Thompson will be located at Brooktrout’s facility in Los Gatos, California.
