The GPRS-service in Finland is called Telia Mobile Online and is a supplementary service, which Telia Mobile’s customers can order for their GPRS phones. With this service, customers will have faster access to the Internet and Telia’s existing WAP-services in a more user-friendly fashion as the connection times will be cut down and the data transmission rate enhanced.
The launch of Tele2’s Swedish GPRS service however has been set back another two weeks. The launch was meant to be made in August but a lack of handsets forced a delay. The delay could mean that the company is waiting for Nokia’s new GPRS handsets. Sweden, unlike Finland, already has access to GPRS, through Telia and Europolitan.
