Oracle has unveiled plans to build a new cloud campus in Austin, Texas, US.
The company aims to increase the number of local employees by over 50% and purchase a 295-unit adjacent apartment building for employees.
Oracle plans to partner with local companies to design and build the campus in a phased manner which will include consolidation of its facilities from Oregon.
Under the first phase, the 560,000ft² complex and parking development will be built on the waterfront of Austin’s Lady Bird Lake.
Oracle Direct senior vice president Scott Armour said: "We already have a high-performing employee base in the region, and the surrounding technology community is teeming with creative and innovative thinkers.
"Our state-of-the-art campus will be designed to inspire, support and attract top talent – with a special focus on the needs of millennials."
Oracle reported a loss in total revenue in its latest financials, despite an increase in cloud revenue.
The company’s 2016 Q2 results saw total revenues at $8.9bn, which is down 6% from $9.5bn in the same quarter last year.
