The VoIP server is compliant with the standardization work done by 3GPP and ETSI TISPAN, which means operators can converge legacy voice and SIP-driven VoIP.
The VoIP server can be implemented as a stand-alone device in fixed networks or it can be deployed as an application server within the IMS framework.
The Nokia VoIP Server currently is being trialed by a number of key operators, according to the company, and will be available for deployment in the first half of 2006.
