Microsoft has reportedly acquired Sunrise Atelier, the calendar app maker for iOS and Android, for approximately $100m, as part of efforts to bolster its mobile productivity tool portfolio.

The calendar app comes with a collection of calendar products for mobile and desktop users that connect with and consolidate calendars from other developers.

It can be accessed on the iPhone, iPad, and Android devices, alongside a web client offering, Tech Crunch reported.

With the app, users will be able to access their calendars from Google, iCloud, and Microsoft Exchange, while connecting to a wide range of other third-party applications.

Established in 2012, the startup raised $8.2m venture capital and had eight employees as of last August.

The latest deal comes after Microsoft acquired email app Acompli, rebranding it as Outlook to take on mobile email for iOS and Android platforms.
