The company said it was ordering the replacement as a precautionary measure and out of concern for consumer safety, adding that fewer that one in 10,000 consoles had experienced what it called rare electrical component failures.
In 30 consoles worldwide, meanwhile, these failures resulted in minor injury or minor property damage, with seven customers suffering minor burns to the hand and another 23 reporting smoke damage, or minor damage to a carpet or entertainment center.
