Arsenal may have walked away from the fourth round of the FA Cup with a win over Brighton and Hove Albion, but the home team did score record usage figures for the Amex stadium’s free WiFi service.

The stadium’s WiFi provider, The Cloud, saw over 13,000 devices connect to the network consuming a staggering 600,000 minutes of online time.

Peak usage times were recorded pre-match, at half time and after the match. Pre-match usage recorded a vast amount of online activity, with over 110,000 mbytes of data downloaded – nearly double the average data use at the stadium on a match day.

Fans at Brighton & Hove Albion’s stadium are able to auto-connect to The Cloud WiFi following a one-time registration, with the stadium seeing the use of the service skyrocket since its introduction.

The Cloud Wifi has over 12 million registered users connecting for over 2.6 billion minutes a month at over 22,000 live locations. The service was recently rolled out at the University of Leicester, providing 500 access points covering 69 locations.
