The new device can be used in stand-alone VoIP gateways or as a VoIP gateway card in legacy PBX or IP-PBX applications. It is the first enterprise gateway from TI that includes the company’s enhanced security framework, which includes support for SRTP.
It features a media-independent interface that enables scaling to configure with additional systems as an enterprise expands, supporting multiple instances of T1 or E1.
Additionally, the gateway includes TI’s voice quality management features, which enables an end-to-end view of voice performance as the end user experiences it by extending how quality is currently monitored and managed on IP networks.
This means an enterprise can monitor quality with real-time diagnostic tools and historic reporting, enabling it to identify trends and potentially avert problems before users are affected.
TNETV2520 does not require external memory, which reduces system power dissipation and system cost, according to TI.
The device is currently available and pricing starts and less than $75 for 10,000-unit orders. TI said the pricing would vary based on required software configuration and quantities.
