Correction: Access does not foresee Palm OS end-of-life

In CBROnline on Monday, we published an article entitled "Access foresees end of life for Palm OS" in which we reported that Access Co Ltd, which last month acquired Palmsource Inc, acknowledged that it foresees the Palm OS coming to an end.

That was inaccurate, and the story has been removed. Quotes attributed to Access only referred to the eventual and not unexpected end-of-life of the Garnet version of the operating system, and not to the end of the Palm OS per se.

Access is planning to follow the current business model and management strategy as established by PalmSource, which includes comprehensive support for existing versions of Palm OS for customers, developers, and partners, Access said in a statement on Friday.
