Phyhealth plans to provide My Medical CD to its Phyhealth Plan members in the form of a member ID card, and in addition, make My Medical CD available to Phyhealth’s physician partners and their patients.

Specific terms of the agreement were not released, but Phyhealth will have access to My Medical CD at discounted pricing and will have its own private label version of the CDs.

Phyhealth says its focus is on the physician/patient relationship, for which a fundamental aspect is the availability of personal medical information to patients and providers.

My Medical CD is a personal health record which can be viewed on a CD the patient carries or from any computer with internet access.

The personal health record movement is separate from the electronic health record initiatives being sponsored by the federal government, major provider organizations and insurers.

Phyhealth says EMR information is generated and maintained by providers, and any single patient’s record can be complete only to the extent that all providers treating a patient are running compatible systems.
