The parties’ intent was to win the public bids published by Hungarian universities in a total amount 13 billion forints, and to keep competitors out of the bids by means of submitting parallel bids, influencing the wording of the invitation for the bids and by conducting negotiations with main competitors, the GVH said in a statement.
SAP and IBM were fined 690m Hungarian forints ($2.9m) each, while privately owned ISH was fined 130m forints ($0.6m). SAP and IBM are expected to appeal.
