The companies say that, once completed, the gaming platform will be fully scalable, allowing an unlimited number of people in different locations to play the same game or participate in the same tournament.
The platform will be Microsoft-certified, which will provide a secure interface to casinos.
A downloadable play-for-fun game for PCs and mobiles phone using video and audio feeds from real gaming devices is also in the pipeline. The game will not permit live wagering, but will allow players to enter into a contest to play in live tournaments at land-based casinos.
