With more than half of mobile content purchases resulting from peer referrals, Connect will enable carriers to turn their existing network of subscribers into an interactive sales force, driving ARPU through content discovery and referral.

Subscribers will be able to create their own user profiles and generate their own greetings. They’ll be able to buy, share, rate, and gift content with others in their community, blog, and send messages and alerts to stay connected with their friends and family. Users will also be able to meet new people based upon similar interests.

Connect will also provide security features to prevent inappropriate or predatory activities. All users will have unique, traceable customer IDs, supported by age verification, content and language filters, blocking and deleting capabilities, and Digital Right Management (DRM) protection.

While supporting JAVA, BREW and WAP front-end applications, Connect’s open-architecture also allows for integration with existing carrier content and billing systems.

For carriers to be successful in increasing their data revenues, they’ll increasingly need to focus on solutions that create a ‘stickiness’ that keeps their users interested and involved. Connect will accomplish that, while also creating a new distribution channel for mobile content, said Adam Lavine, FunMobility founder and CEO.
