Euclyd, a Dutch semiconductor and AI infrastructure startup, has closed a Series A financing round exceeding €200m ($231m).
The funding has been co-led by Samsung, Scaleup Europe Fund managed by EQT, Somerset Capital Partners, and Innovation Industries.
Other participants in the round include EIFO, imec.xpand, the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark, Quadri, and Brabant Development Agency (BOM).
Euclyd focuses on developing technology aimed at improving the efficiency of deploying foundation AI models, which require extensive power, memory bandwidth, and operational complexity as they increase in capability.
The company is working on a platform integrating customised compute systems, a novel memory architecture, and datacentre solutions to tackle the challenges facing AI inference.
Peter Wennink, who served as president and CEO of ASML in the past, has joined Euclyd as chairman of the Dutch startup’s board.
Wennink said: “Europe possesses world-class capabilities across semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, and systems engineering. Euclyd can transform those strengths into a globally competitive AI infrastructure platform.”
Euclyd’s founders Bernardo Kastrup and Atul Sinha established the company on the High Tech Campus Eindhoven, leveraging local expertise in semiconductors and engineering.
At the centre of the company’s plans are ‘craftwerk,’ described as the world’s first agentic AI silicon, and ‘craftwerk station CWS,’ which Euclyd states is the lowest-power exascale AI factory.
These products utilise programmable application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) compute, coordinated processor-memory design, and system-level optimisation in efforts to overcome current memory and efficiency barriers in AI performance.
Euclyd CEO Kastrup said: “AI is becoming a foundation of economic growth, scientific discovery, and national competitiveness, but its potential will remain constrained unless we fundamentally change the infrastructure beneath it.
“This financing accelerates our mission to make intelligence abundant through greater efficiency, lower cost per token, and broader access to advanced AI.”
Proceeds from the financing will be used to grow Euclyd’s engineering teams and advance its silicon and systems development schedule.
The company also plans to build partnerships within its ecosystem and position the business for commercial deployment in enterprise, sovereign, and hyperscale AI markets.
