Founded in 1999, Gandi claims to manage more than 760,000 domain names for clients in 198 countries. It is approved by ICANN for .COM, .NET, .ORG, .BIZ, .INFO, .NAME, .BE, .FR, .EU domains in France. Gandi now offers over 30 domain extensions.

The domain names come with DNS management, five mailboxes, email address forwarding, web forwarding, free blog, privacy protection and customer service. As a launch offer, the company is offering .co.uk and .org.uk domain names at GBP3 per year.

Gandi now has offices in Paris and London. The London team will support the UK customers and their hosting services.

Joe White, COO of Gandi.net, said: “The UK customers have been asking us to focus our attention over here, so we have set up a UK office to listen and respond to their needs. We will continue to build great products for you to buy. It’s also part of Gandi’s philosophy to sell domains at a reasonable price, so that you know we’re not just trying to lure you in and sell you something else.

Gandi’s virtualised hosting service is based on Xen virtualisation technology and has been developed in-house. Some key features include: automatic failover, secure data storage, auto-install option for quick configuration and secure server access.

Gandi enables the user’s server to run with its own dedicated resources. Its infrastructure is based on servers placed in two separate locations on the same network loop.
