According to the company, initial products to support the new platform will include its MC9000 rugged mobile computers, the ergonomic MC3000 mobile computers and the size-optimized MC70 and MC75 Enterprise Digital Assistants (EDAs).
Support for Windows Mobile 6.1 is expected to provide Motorola mobile computer customers with enhanced security features including data encryption and support for Microsoft’s System Center Mobile Device Manager 2008 (SCMDM) to simplify security policy creation and deployment to mobile devices.
According to Motorola, Windows Mobile 6.1 will provide users with access to standardized off-the-shelf applications; improved mobile messaging; increased device control with a variety of device management systems to wirelessly administer and deploy software upgrades.
MC3000 mobile computer will now support Windows Mobile 6.1. Also some of the MC3090 Windows Mobile 6.1 configurations also feature the rotating scan head with left, right and front positions to enable the user to adjust the scanning position for comfort and productivity.
