Arsenal Football Club has signed a deal with altodigital for a secure print infrastructure across its network. It is hoped the deal will help the club with its document storage requirements.

The office equipment supplier has provided both hardware and software, including Ricoh MFDs (multifunctional devices) and Equitrac Print Management software. The company says this should enable the club to cut costs by implementing ‘smart’ printing – where print runs are directed to the most cost-effective option, such as networked MFDs rather than desktops machines.

The IT department at Arsenal can now monitor print traffic with FollowYou Printing and print management tools, improving security across the network.

Paul Farmer, head of IT at Arsenal, said: “We chose to work with altodigital as they listened to our needs and provided a tailored solution, which enabled us to improve efficiencies both in management and environmental terms.”

The club has installed print hardware such as the Ricoh MP 2550 and MP C2500, which offer high-quality 1,200dpi printing, an internal finisher, the ability to scan to SD card/flash drive and locked use.

Mike Brown, altodigital regional sales manager, said: “We are delighted to be working with Arsenal FC. We looked at the club’s requirements and then delivered a solution using Ricoh hardware and print management software that meets its specific requirements.”

Arsenal Football Club plays at the Emirates Stadium. It was opened for the 2006/07 season and has a capacity of just over 60,000. The stadium cost £430m to build.
