According to InfoVista, IT management research and consulting firm Enterprise Management Associates (EMA) said that Accellent has significantly bolstered InfoVista’s competitive edge in offering advanced application performance assurance to enterprises and service providers globally.
The company said that as a combined entity, InfoVista and Accellent will provide solutions, including detection of performance issues with end-user applications or services, analysis of supporting infrastructure for performance issues, visibility into the performance of specific applications and/or users consuming bandwidth and determination of the devices, applications, users, locations and business groups affected.
A number of mergers and acquisitions have taken place in the supply chain solutions space in the recent past. In September 2007, CDC Software, a provider of enterprise software applications and business services acquired Catalyst International, a provider of supply chain execution solutions. Similarly, Siemens acquired UGS to offer SCM solutions to the manufacturing industries, in a deal valued at $3.5 billion in early 2007.
