With regards to the European market, ClickandBuy has said that it is developing a secure person-to-person payments and a cash voucher retail program that will be offered by summer 2007. The company commented that its hosted digital commerce system is important for merchants as it can provide different types of payment methods, including yearly subscriptions or single downloads of songs.

The company’s European payment gateway acts as a ‘plug and play’ system, through which US merchants can plug into ClickandBuy and use its system as a one-stop shop for all different types of secure payment methods with multi-currency capabilities.

Norbert Stangl, CEO of ClickandBuy, said: Delivery of secure digital content for online music stores is dependent on expansion into new markets and different ways to pay…The reason why companies like Apple iTunes selected us in Europe is that we can deliver over 40 payment types, which enables our merchants to instantly increase their income.

ClickandBuy commented that, as it has a worldwide consumer base of seven million, merchants are able to instantly gain access to new markets, giving them the ability to expand their own market share. The company added that, by aggregating transactions for merchants, ClickandBuy is able to help digital music companies save up to 50% on each transaction.
