The federally funded lab is jointly managed by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the California Institute of Technology. The new deal includes a three-year, $110m base term and seven annual options.
The deal was awarded under the JPL’s Desktop and Institutional Environment vehicle, replacing the current Desktop Network Services contract, which is held by Lockheed. The DICE deal includes help desk consolidation, unified messaging, desktop services, hardware updates, computing capacity, and enterprise services, plus the services already covered by the DNS contract–desktop updates, help desk services, remote desktop management, software distribution, licensing management, configuration management, and asset management, Lockheed said.
THe DNS deal runs out in December, with the DICE deal kicking in January 1, 2008.
