According to Captovation, the new version of Capture has added features and functionality for multiple capture modules.
The web capture module consists of a server and a client that runs within a web browser. The client is used to scan and index documents using either TWAIN-compliant desktop scanners or multifunction devices. The document images and associated metadata can be sent over the internet to the server, which archives the images and data into an electronic document management system.
The module has features such as auto logout, auto authentication and improved web capture file transmission. The company said that the Capture 5.2 improves security by running Commit Server, Recognition Server and Import Server as a Windows service. It also stores documents into subfolders by index values in addition to date. Additionally, the type of document can be stored in another subfolder under the customer name.
It also includes client/server verification for X9.37 files and a method to import images and electronic documents for conversion to standard image format.
The company released the previous version of the suite, Capture 5.0, in May 2005, which included import server, web capture and recognition server.
