The Calgary Health Region engaged Eclipsys Consulting Group to co-develop an implementation strategy focused on achieving 100% computerized physician order entry within 18 months of activation.
After just a few weeks following the activation of Sunrise Clinical Manager at the first of the three sites, 72% of orders by regional staff physicians and 90% of orders by resident physicians were being placed directly using the Eclipsys system.
The high percentage of physicians already using the order sets in Sunrise Clinical Manager has enabled the healthcare system to standardize its care delivery and accelerate achievement of regional and provincial quality improvement initiatives.
As Sunrise Clinical Manager continues to gain increased acceptance in Canada, this successful activation represents an important milestone for Eclipsys in this key market, noted R Andrew Eckert, Eclipsys’ president and chief executive officer.
