The company’s new MindServer 5.0 platform comes with new eDiscovery tools that help users pinpoint electronic information used in litigation proceedings. Performance improvements have also been made to the indexing and query engines.
The upgraded software also makes it easier to embed core search and categorization capabilities into third-party applications. Improved APIs facilitate tighter search integration with email archiving and enterprise content management repositories. There are also new custom connectors for EMC/Documentum, Microsoft, and LexisNexis content systems and repositories.
Recommind claims that MindServer’s ability to locate, filter and lock-down legal information preserved as part of so-called litigation holds differentiates it from other enterprise search tools. Additionally, MindServer 5.0 can also pass search results to other content management systems and databases for further lock down.
Recommind has also bumped up performance and search scalability by adding 64-bit platform support.
Recommind recently released an expertise search system for identifying employees with specific skill sets, experience and know-how. MindServer Expertise is a variation of a similar product Recommind has developed for law firms.
Recommind has about 50 clients. Most are large companies with average deals running into hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The company competes at the high-end of the information search and retrieval market against Fast Search & Transfer ASA and Autonomy Corp plc.
