Talend, a provider of open source middleware offerings, said that BF&M, a Bermuda insurance group, has selected its open source data management offering to streamline the company’s data migration processes between systems.
The open source data management offering enables BF&M to reduce the time and improve the performance of migrating and maintaining, constantly changing customer service databases and underwriting policies for an array of insurance products.
The company said that the new offering deployment would enable BF&M to drive a system replacement project that involves moving and maintaining the data from a legacy AS/400 application to the new Wynsure system.
BF&M information technology vice president Paul Matthews said with the data volume and complexity associated with their legacy system, BF&M required a data migration and integration tool to relieve their developers from trying to hand code an offering.
"Talend Integration Suite was a clear winner against other ETL tools, seamlessly migrating and modifying data from the legacy application to Wynsure and we cut the project development time by approximately 70% with Talend compared to what it would have taken without an ETL tool," Mattews said.
