Informatica, a provider of data integration software, has opened Marketplace that connects buyers and sellers to share data integration offerings within an open and comprehensive ecosystem of more than 100,000 active users.

The company said that the Marketplace for businesses, which will enable customers to lower their cost of deployment and speed time-to-market. It will provide vendors, partners and individual developers with a central location to buy and sell assets and offerings called ‘Blocks’.

According to Informatica, a Block can be developed for on-premise or cloud use and may include data models, mappings, mapplets, tools, utilities, packaged services, methodologies, white papers, connectors and other useful resources. Users will be able to browse Blocks for industry specific offerings or platform use cases. All Blocks contributed to the Marketplace will be evaluated for quality and value before becoming available.

The new Marketplace provides offerings in eight technology categories including, enterprise data integration, data quality, B2B data exchange, application information lifecycle management, complex event processing, cloud data integration, ultra messaging and master data management.

In addition, the Marketplace provides buyers with faster time to market with pre-built offerings; geater access to a community of developers/companies that can assist them; expanded knowledge and visibility into new offerings; and extended capacity by requesting offerings in a bidscenario.

The Marketplace will allow sellers to develop and market innovative components and offerings for the installed customer base and will have access to 100,000 Informatica community members in more than 100 countries.
